Flower Arranging Workshop Programme 2019
I am a lucky lady who adores every day I go to work – which is 365 days (on average!!). I am a florist – simply, the best job in the world. I would like to share my passion and enthusiasm with you and am pleased to announce Flower Thyme’s Flower Workshop Programme for 2019.
I hope you will find lots of ideas here to tempt you over the coming months and with over 19 years’ experience tutoring all ages and abilities I would love to share my special flower arranging world with you all… All classes are held away from our retail shop in our purpose-built workshop in the Old Mill, Kineton – created specifically to accommodate classes of up to 10 individuals in a comfortable, practical environment. All classes are small and informal, catering for all abilities from the absolute beginner to the more experienced flower arranger. Fees include the cost of all materials and tuition and refreshments are provided, you will leave the class with a display to take home and enjoy.
Full payment (non-refundable) is required upon booking to secure your place and early booking is essential as classes do fill up quickly. If you belong to a club or organization or just want to gather a few friends together and would like to book a private class on any subject listed or one of your choice, please call me to discuss additional dates.

Heart shaped wreaths – Wednesday 6th March 2019 – 7-9pm - £40
On Ash Wednesday and using the budded twigs of early spring as inspiration I will show you how to create a stunning heart shaped wreath to decorate your home. Moss, willow and blossom will be fashioned into natural designs inspired by nature.
The Bounty of Spring - Tuesday 19th March 2019 – 7-9pm - £40
My favourite time of all seasons, we are working with a riot of colour in the spring – yellow narcissi, blue iris, orange ranunculus, pink blossom and lime green viburnum. In this workshop we will work with bulbs to recreate a memory of childhood – a primrose bank of moss and emerging potted bulbs delicately adorned with scented primroses. In addition, an informal arrangement of spring cut flowers will complete this colourful class.
Easter Doorwreaths – Tuesday 9th April 2019 – 7-9pm - £40
Using herbs, textural foliages, bulbs, spring flowers and eggs we will create a scented, colourful wreath to decorate your door for Easter – a wonderful way to greet family and friends for this long-awaited holiday.
An Easter Nest Basket – Monday 15th April 2019 – 7-9pm - £40
Using tulips, narcissi, and ranunculus to fantastic effect we will create an Easter egg nest to decorate your home. Spring cut flowers are sometimes difficult to arrange due to their soft stems – here I will show you the skills necessary to get them to work for you!
Amazing Alliums! – Wednesday 15th May 2019 – 7-9pm - £40
These incredible relatives of the humble onion are at their very best this month in the garden – vivid purple balls of colour. A modern, linear arrangement using techniques of manipulation will set these flowers off to best advantage.
Fantastic Floral Crowns – Thursday 6th June 2019 – 7-9pm - £40
With midsummer approaching its time to throw gay abandon to formality and wear flowers in your hair! You will learn how to create a shining floral crown – eat your heart out Maid Marian!
A Passion for Peony – Tuesday 11th June 2019 – 7-9pm - £45
A question I am frequently asked is “ What is your favourite flower?” – I must admit a very soft spot for this romantic, blowsy bloom…
We will create a vintage inspired design on a glass cake plate to show these stunning flowers off to their very best.
Garden handtied bouquets – Thursday 11th July 2019 – 7-9pm - £40
The Flower Thyme allotment produces a quality of fresh cut flowers each year – sweet peas, delphinium, cornflower and dahlias.
We will use these flowers and foliages to create relaxed handtied designs ready to fill your favourite jug at home.
Floriography – the secret language of flowers – Monday 12th August 2019 – 7-9pm - £40
Unlock the Victorian language of flowers on this class – each flower has a secret meaning and by combining a number of flowers together you can send meaningful messages, convey deep secrets and share moments…what will you say with your bouquet?
An Autumn Bounty – Wednesday 25th September 2019 – 7-9pm - £40
The rich tapestry of autumnal flowers, foliages and berries will be used to create a table arrangement for your own harvest supper.
Taking the terror out of Terrariums! – Tuesday 22nd October 2019 – 7-9pm - £40
As we move to spend more time indoors than out, we need to create an interior environment which is healthy and comforting. An indoor plant terrarium combining green house plants and succulents will be planted on this class where you will learn all the secrets to success – and it will involve your summer barbecue!?!
Christmas Table Centre – Tuesday 19th November 2019 – 7-9pm - £40
An opportunity to learn how to create a stunning long and low design incorporating seasonal evergreen foliages, candles and rich coloured fresh flowers to great effect. This will allow you to hone your skills will ahead of the recreate the design to adorn your Christmas table.

A class which has proved to be incredibly popular over the last 19 years. You will learn how to make a traditional mixed evergreen doorwreath using moss, holly, ivy and spruce, this will then be decorated with fruit, berries and fabric ribbon allowing you to take home your completed wreath – Ready to hang on your door for the festive period.
Luxury Evergreen Doorwreaths - £55

Following requests for our best selling design this is a class in which you can make a textural rustic doorwreath. Using a combination of foliages including eucalyptus, herbs, ivy trails and mimosa you will create a 12” doorwreath then dress it with berries, thistle and pheasant feathers using traditional techniques.
Mixed Evergreen Swags –Wednesday 11th December 2019 7-9pm - £55
Using traditional techniques you will learn how to make a metre-long garland which can be used to decorate your fireplace or staircase at Christmas. Mixed evergreen materials will be combined to stunning effect with cones, berries and fruits to complete your design.
